SESTRIERE HAS A NEW TOURIST LOGO

SESTRIERE – Sestriere has a new tourist logo. At the beginning of December the early stage of designing was complete by the “Istituto d’arte applicata e Design” (IAAD) in Turin, which had been charged by the Sestriere Town Hall. .
“We decided to have a tourist logo together with the official coat of arms, as many ski resorts have, in order to widespread more and more our image: The “Istituto d’arte applicata e Design” has prepared different projects and we chose “Sestriere high life”, because in our opinion it is the one which fits more to our area” said the Major of Sestriere, Mr. Andrea Maria Colarelli. .
Rossana Brando, IAAD Manager, gives all details about the realization of the Sestriere tourist logo. .
“To project a logo for Sestriere means first of all to think about what it represents among the most famous international ski resorts. We are talking about a very well known ski resort in the winter and not so appreciated for its summer activities.The first step was focused on the creation of a brand, which should not have been linked to skiing or winter sports. A second step has considered the duttility it should have had: this brand has to be on catalogues of travel agencies but also on institutional releases (news), it should be inserted in pamphlets, but at the same time could be presented alone, being indipendent and strong. This is the reason why we wanted a project without symbols and in which the name Sestriere were leading. .
The choice of the character was the result of a new research: a soft, graceful character, in contrast with the cold and technological image (reputation) Sestriere has. We looked for something linked to leisure time. .
At the same time we wanted something unique, like Sestriere is.
The three circles symbolize sun, nature and snow: They recall the vacation: the choosen payoff to represent the vacation in Sestriere is “high life”: The result is a timeless brand, which very representative and at the same time easy-fitting to many contests.
